Day to Day
Senior Capstone Project at Christopher Newport University, 2024

Day to Day is a fanciful look at my daily experience as someone who lives with chronic anxiety. In this series, I personified anxiety as shadowy beings that appear in locations where I often experience anxiousness. Here, I depict anxiety as a neutral spectator of life. The figures are not attacking or interacting with the viewer, only watching. This is to show my belief that anxiety is more of a constant companion than an inherently dangerous or aggressive force, that it should be acknowledged but not focused on. Each piece in this series is a digital photograph that I edited and digitally illustrated onto. I manipulated the quality of each image to reflect the tendency of anxiety to make ones surroundings seem less pristine.
